Welcome to the new look newsletter.
Well it’s been 2 weeks since my last newsletter and what an exciting 2 weeks it has been. Ei42 now has an additional 97 retailers and the team of friends continues to grow at a phenomenal rate.
It has taken us a little longer than we hoped but we have finally finished the changes to the mailing lists we use when contacting you and the method you can use to contact and keep in touch with the friends that you introduce to Ei42. Some of you had asked for the ability to simply be able to use our systems to email everyone in your team. Others asked for the return of the facility where we allowed you to email from our systems everyone that you personally introduced to Ei42. Unfortunately we had to remove that facility because it was being abused by some individuals. The new system is fair to all and allows each individual to control how they deal with emails that they are receiving in exactly the same way as you can deal with any email you receive. You can simply choose to ignore or block it!
So here is what now happens.
1. We assume that the person who referred you to Ei42 already knows you personally. As such they already have your name and email address. So when a new member joins your team we send you the usual email but in addition we include in that email your friends name and email address. We do not include any address or other contact details, those will always remain totally confidential for data protection reasons. You can also now see those same basic details in your admin area. This ONLY applies to the people you personally refer to Ei42 and NOT friends of friends.
2. If you happen to have been referred by a person that you do not know very well or if your “friend” is pestering you by sending you too many emails simply reply to them asking that they stop sending you emails. If they continue to pester you then simply block their emails. This is very easy to do in all email programs. As we at Ei42 are dealing with tens of thousands of users we needed a solution that could work for us all and this is a really simple solution because YOU are in total control of your own email and therefore you are in control of your own teams and friends rather than us imposing a solution upon you all.
3. For the purposes of us at Ei42 Group contacting you, we have created a number of mailing lists to send information out from Ei42 to you as members. These lists include;
a. Weekly Newsletter
b. Seasonal Promotions
c. Special Offers
d. New Retailers
As time goes on there may be others but no matter how many there are YOU will control if you wish to receive them or not. To launch this feature we have automatically subscribed everyone to all 4 lists but we give you 2 methods to unsubscribe from these mailing lists.
Method 1:
EVERY time we send you an email from one of our mailing lists it will contain an unsubscribe link. If you no longer wish to subscribe to that mailing list simply click the “Unsubscribe from this mailing list” link and you will be automatically unsubscribed. It is a single click and you will not be sent any further messages from that particular mailing list. Please note we are starting with 3 mailing lists so if you wish to unsubscribe from all 4 you will be required to click the unsubscribe in 4 emails. (or see method 2)
Method 2:
Log into your admin area and look for the mailing lists section. Untick the mailing lists that you do not wish to be subscribed to and press save. Please note clicking the unsubscribe link in the email will automatically untick these boxes saving you the bother of logging into your admin area. At any point in the future you can rejoin any of our mailing lists by logging into your admin area and ticking the subscribe boxes for your chosen mailing lists.
N.B. There is one other mailing list which you are all subscribed to and to which you cannot unsubscribe. That mailing list is our method to contact you all should we need to do so in an emergency or to make you aware of a current or imminent technical issue. It will not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be used to contact you for any other reason.
New Features:
You will now find additional features in the ‘personalisation’ section within your admin area. You were always able to change the theme/colour scheme of your Ei42 shop but we now we have added 2 more great features.
Your Shop Name:
You can now edit and change the name of your shop anytime you wish. This will NOT change your username. It simply changes the name of your shop that you see on your personal Ei42 shops homepage.
Alias Feature:
Many people asked us for the ability to be able to show a different name when a person clicked the “Join Now” link. Until now when clicking that link people saw your “First Name” and “Last name”. This is still the case (by default) but now we have also provided you with a field in your admin area where you can place an “Alias” which will replace your First Name and Last Name. So let’s imagine your name is “Paul Smith” but all your mates know you as “Tall Paul” you can enter “Tall Paul” in the alias field within your admin area and you new friends will now see, referred by “Tall Paul” when they click the “Join Now” link.
N.B. If you are one of the many people who has placed an ‘alias’ in the First Name and Last Name fields can you please update your accounts with your correct details making use of this great new feature ASAP.
